Sunday Sanctuary: Practice Stillness

Today and every day take moments to pause, be still, feel your breath and practice stillness.

When we practice stillness we provide our nervous system, and whole body for that matter, a chance to relax. A moment to step out of the reactive mode we can get caught in while being on our devices and taking in both mainstream and social media.

All those advertisements and updates are designed to interrupt our attention. These interruptions impact our ability to focus and be calm. When our body carries tension our immune system is compromised.

Often times our society has us programmed to relate to a sense of calm as a state reserved for when we take a vacation or find a way to press pause from our everyday way of life. Being a steward for your own health requires creativity and daily reminders to press pause, close your eyes, breathe and experience those inner moments of peace.

Create the time and stay curious to the expansion you can experience in the relationship with yourself and the loved ones with which you get to share this beautiful, precious life.
